Government Efficiency & Accountability
- Conduct a strategic study to have a long-term vision for the Village.
- Create a Village report card to exhibit the progress of goals in real-time.
- Deploy resident survey for ARP fund spending
- Investigate the possibility of insurance chargebacks for EMS services
Create Government Partnerships
- Reestablish a partnership with the County by integrating the Village’s County Legislator into the Village Board of Trustee Meetings.
- Expand conversations with the Town of Horseheads to reestablish and create shared services.
- The Village residents are Town of Horseheads residents who pay a Town Tax.
Hanover Square Events Enhancements
- Through the Village’s Recreation Department and the Board of Trustees’ reconnection with Hanover Square merchants provide more events in Hanover Square.
- Work with Village volunteers to provide an easy framework to implement events.
Mayoral and Trustee Accountability
- Create mayoral and trustee-specific work tasks
- Create special committees for important Village issues that our chaired by Village Trustees
- For example: Hanover Square Revitalization, Neighborhood Watch, Traffic and Parking, Recreation
- Institute semiannual trustee board retreats for planning and evaluating the progress of mayoral and trustee work tasks.
- Host semiannual public forums to provide more meaningful communication opportunities with residents.
Improve Infrastructure
- Accelerate Village Water System Rebuild
- Comprehensive Water System study to find nonpaying customers and other leakage sources
- Begin unbagged leaf pickup program
- Increase investment into Thorne Street Park and recreational programs
Enhanced Digital Presence
- Upgrade the Village to a “.gov” website
- Create a unified and certified Village Facebook & Instagram presence
Employee Retention
- Commission benchmark study for appropriate staffing levels and pay rates
- Investigate hybrid schedules for certain positions
- Create an employee appreciation program
- Reinstate Employee, Village Manager, and Village Board Evalutions
